The materials (glass, paper/cardboard and plastic/metal) placed in the recycling bins or collected door-to-door in the 19 municipalities in Valorsul's area are sent to the two Sorting Centres.

At these facilities they are separated by type of material so that they can be sent to the recycling industry. In this way, the materials separated by all of us at the recycling centres can be transformed into new objects in the future.

Valorsul's Sorting Centres, located in Lumiar and Cadaval, are industrial units which, through mechanical and manual processes, separate materials for later recycling.

In addition to the two Sorting Centres, Valorsul also has eight Ecocentres open to the public where citizens can deposit materials and objects that cannot be placed in recycling bins and can thus also be recycled.
