In just two months, REUSE MAP, Valorsul's circular economy platform, has already identified 500 points where citizens are invited to change their behaviour, and they can find out via the website which places near them they can start reusing materials now. More than just a website, the platform is an invitation with 500 reasons to join this circular revolution - all at the click of a button.

Valorsul converted half a tonne of old uniforms into 60 blankets, which were donated to more than 50 users of the Life and Peace Community Rehabilitation Centre, reinforcing the company's commitment to sustainability and the circular economy.

Pioneering automated digital sorting solution in Portugal will increase the amount of packaging sent for recycling Valorsul, the entity responsible for urban waste management in Greater Lisbon and the Western Region, is a pioneer in Portugal with the introduction of the first robot with Artificial Intelligence in a waste sorting center.

In February, Valorsul, an EGF concessionaire responsible for urban waste management in greater Lisbon and the West Region in Portugal, began a pilot project to capture CO₂ at the Waste-to-Energy (WtE) Plant in São João da Talha. The aim is to test state-of-the-art technologies in a real environment and contribute to a significant reduction in the company's carbon footprint.

The www.reusemap.valorsul.pt platform brings together more than 350 projects to promote good environmental practices and make the reuse of goods more accessible to everyone. Valorsul, the company responsible for the treatment and recovery of urban waste in the Lisbon area and the West region, is launching an innovative project today, as part of the European Week for Waste Reduction (SEPR), to promote the reuse and circularity of materials - REUSE MAP is an online platform that maps and publicises activities dedicated to the prevention, reduction and reuse of materials, as well as combating food waste in the 19 municipalities in Valorsul's area of intervention.

Valorsul was honoured with the APCE 2024 Grand Prize in the Sustainability & ESG category for its campaign ‘A good deed changes the world. Practise yours! Recycle!’, developed for World Youth Day (WYD) Lisbon 2023. This award highlights the company's commitment to promoting sustainability and good recycling practices at the biggest event ever held in Portugal. The campaign aimed to make pilgrims and the population of Lisbon aware of the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling waste, minimising the environmental impact generated by the large influx of participants.
